In augustus 2022 werd er aan de voorzijde van de ontmoetingsruimte een infographic over de duurzame aspecten van het huisje geplaatst.
Waarom een infographic?
Het plakkaat geeft informatie over de klimaatneutrale aspecten van de ontmoetingsruimte. Omdat er niet altijd iemand aanwezig is om hierover te vertellen is er een infographic gemaakt.
Samenwerking tussen verschillende partijen
De Stichting Dakpark werd gesponsord door het Energiewijk XL BOTU-project van de Gemeente Rotterdam voor het maken van een infographic over de duurzame technieken die gebruikt zijn in het huisje. Jasper Brakel en Roseanna Mulder maakten het ontwerp. De drukkerij van het Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam voerde het ontwerp uit.

Biodiversity (green icon)
The cabin has a sedum roof. The plants on the roof provide a comfortable
resting-place for birds and contribute to biodiversity. A concrete roof becomes
warmed up rapidly in summer which leads to a heightened heat climate in the
city.
A sedum roof is cooler and so less electricity will be needed to cool down the
inside. Our cabin is the perfect place to connect people and animals.

The cabin has its own water purification system which makes it possible to
collect 2380 litres of water per year.

Renewable resources (brown icon)
On a global basis the building sector is responsible for a large part of the carbon
dioxide emissions and the use of resources. Especially the production of
materials such as aluminium and steel require a lot of energy.
The cabin consists for 90% of sustainably produced softwood. We find this
important because renewable resources such as wood are (usually) CO2
positive.
Solar energy (yellow icon)
The cabin is equipped with 8 solar panels of 330 WP (Watt peak) each. This
provides an average output of 2640 WP per day and addresses the following
systems:
- Infrared heating
- Induction cooking unit
- Sockets
- Led lamps
- Water pump
